Every environment has the potential for limitless possibilities, and some places seem to want to tell their stories more than others. When exposed to a location I try to imagine these situations. My mind remembers some fantasies and over time they become intermixed with actual memories. This causes me to question my recollection of the past, because memories are inherently unstable. The older the memory the more likely it is to become distorted from from the passage of time.By obscuring portions of environments in my photos I mirror the fogginess of the past and the hidden nature of the future, furthering the notion that a photograph can be much more than is revealed in the frame. Showing these places without the human component I leave it to the viewer to engage the photograph in a much more personal way leaving the narrative open for interpretation.
